Stem Cell Transplants, Moscow, and Borscht…life with Lisa in Russia.

“We do the MS shuffle…”

Girls will be girls. Let me explain…there is a group of seven women who have become some of my dearest friends. We have known of each other for about 8 months now. But we have connected in the past four weeks, bonded, and formed a sisterhood. Specifically, “The Sisterhood Of the Fedorenko Alliance” in honor of the amazing man (Dr. Fedorenko)who has changed, and yes even saved our lives. We are “SOFA” for short, kinda like being in the Army…we like acronyms.

Phoebe (http://hsctmsandme.weebly.com/aa-maximov-hospital.html) has completed her HSCT journey, as has Tammy (http://tamstopms.wordpress.com/), Amy (http://amygoesninja.wordpress.com/) and now Brooke (http://msslickdotcom.wordpress.com/).

Next up at bat is me-me-me-me! Followed by Kristy (Special Agent Koala Bear) at http://www.movingmountains2013.com/, Vicki http://kickinms.com/, Sheli http://kissmsgoodbye.wordpress.com/, and Jane – the rookie – only a SOFA girl for one week.

Two of my stem cell SOFA sisters are currently in Moscow…Brooke who was just discharged, and Kristy who is there to begin her week long physical assessment. We are a crazy bunch, must be the vodka. Anyway, in honor and celebration of Brooke’s amazing and problem free treatment, she and Koala Bear danced the M.S. shuffle!

Danced to the tune of Hokey Pokey –

“We do the MS shuffle and we turn ourselves around

All with-out falling down”

Goodnight Moon!
